The Creation Of Adam

The Creation of Adam, was painted by Michelangelo, it took him four years to finish this painting. Michelangelo was born in 1475 and died in 1564. He grew up absorbed in carving, painting, drawing and of course, art. The boy was beaten severely to force him into a "respectable" profession. A couple of years have passed and Michelangelo was still addicted to the artist world, and was noticed by his amazing talent at the age of 15 by Medici prince Lorenzo the Magnificent, where he took Michelangelo in and made him like like a son.

This picture is very realistic, the precise detail for all of the lines, the characters in the painting and the background. The quality of The Creation of Adam, is very professional, and it is amazing that it is still known and famous until the present day.

The feeling i get from looking at this painting is quite spiritual and it seems to be a very calm and important moment. This painting give yu powerful feelings and that its mood is actually, swinging, like a mood swing, a section of it is powerful and hyper, yet another is cool and calm. The section of where God is reaching out to Adam to give him life is a happy, powerful, spiritual moment, and how God's arms are wrapped around Eve give you a feeling of being secure.
The background colours are very soothing, from the bright blue sky and the fluffy white clouds.

The unity in this picture to me, it seems to appear everywhere, from one end to another, from character to character and obviously the beautiful colours used for the characters, the layout, the details too!

Michelangelo did more than anyone to elevate the artist status in his time. he broke all rules to create a painting that would make your eyes pop, and remain in your mind forever. Admirers of his call him "Divine Michelangelo".

This section of this post was not requested by my teacher but i thought i would tell you the story of this painting. Adam whome is the nude man on the left is lying on a patch of grass reaching out to the man whome is god, the man on the right. His left arm is wrapped around a female figure, to us is known as Eve, who is not yet created and, waits in heaven to be given an earthly form. God's right arm is outstretched to impart the spark of life from his own to Adam by the touch of his finger.
